Vintage Packard Archtop restoration

Had the pleasure of restoring this lovely old timer. An Australian made ‘Packard’ from most likely the early 50’s – very little info around, but a lovingly built instrument none the less!

Came in with a fractured back, collapsed neck angle, and most of the binding in tatters. Having a Spanish heel neck joint, the only option was to remove the back and repair internally.

After rebuilding the neck joint, rebinding the back (and neck), some finish repairs, a much needed refret, fresh nut, period correct new tuners, and properly intonating the original saddle – the old gal was back in business for another 60+ years!
