Custom Shop #3

The first ever Duke powered with Valvebucker. Other than the pickup, the specs are (not coincidentally!) identical with the Duke #1, that I still use as one of my personal guitars. So in some ways, this guitar, the Duke #293, closes the circle I started to draw 25 years ago when I founded this company.

This guitar was introduced at the Helsinki Tonefest in January 2020. After that it traveled to Tokyo to be reviewed in the ‘Guitar Magazine’. And from Japan the guitar’s journey continued to Cologne, Germany, where my friend Franz Holtmann wrote a review of the instrument to the ‘Gitarre & Bass’ -magazine. By now I was missing the guitar dearly… but it didn’t want to come home yet – but continue to Paris, where another friend, Pierre Journel, did a video review of the guitar for ‘The Guitar Channel’. Where next? Depends on the circumstances, I guess… 😉
